Synopsis
The Resilience and Regenerative Systems Design is a life-changing, experiential proposition addressed to every individual that is in a quest to serve the world or to deepen and find new methods, tools and instruments to co-create a regenerative tomorrow.
Learning outcomes
The Resilience and Regenerative Systems Design is a embodied learning journey, where the participants will get in touch, deepen and develop, purpose driven leadership, collective intelligence, system thinking, resilience supportive tools, regenerative design, deep ecology, biomimicry, transition, blue economy, and much, much more.
Why Permaculture?
Permaculture is a design theory and practice that develops regenerative and productive natural based systems and sustainable human settlements in conscious biomimicry actions.
What is a PDC?
PDC or Permaculture Design Certified Course is a course is modeled for 72 hours and addressing key themes and core of Permaculture, according to his co-creator Bill Mollison.
This course will give students a Permaculture Design Certificate, and access to the Permaculture Diploma Process, allowing them to be able to start a teaching and consultancy professional path on permaculture.
Facilitators
Maurício Umann (MU)
A warmhearted Permaculture Diplomat and teacher with a deep theoretical and practical experience in Permaculture, Natural Building and Community’s practices, setting up projects in urban spaces, amazon landscapes, mediterranean spaces, cold climate, and subtropical spaces since 2005, teaching and consulting in Portugal, Brazil, Peru and Romania.
He is passionate about bio-construction, communities and ecovillages design, landscape design and earthworks.
With a multicultural experience, established in Portugal since 2009 the Integral Education Center “O Fojo Permaculture” where an intentional community is being born and implemented. He is also the author of the book Permaculture | Introductory Course, edited in portuguese and now being translated to english, romanian, spanish and french and co-author of the project/book Aldeia das Amoreiras | Permaculture to a village.
He is now involved in creating a International Permaculture Diploma System, an International Cooperative entrepreneurship to connect ecovillages and Permaculture projects economically and also working as a Permaculture Consultant Designer in different scales Permaculture and Community projects in Portugal and Romania.
Claudian Dobos
Certified trainer for more than 15 years, since 2009 when he did his PDC with Max Lindegger (Australia) participated in different Permaculture projects in Europe.
He made the journey to Permaculture trainer with Rosemary Morrow (Australia) in Portugal with the Permaculture Teachers Course. He is also a Transition Towns trainer he is active in different ecological movements and networks.
Since February 2013 he is established in Aurora Community where he is involved in setting-up the Aurora Living and Learning Center and specially Aurora Permaculture Research Center.
He was widely active in national and transnational organization related with sustainability, like Global Ecovillage Network, ECOLISE, and Transition Network.
He is co-founder of the Romania in Tranzitie, Permaculture Research Institute of Romania and member of the emerging European Permaculture Network.
Where?
The course will take place near the village of Alvaiázere, Leiria, PORTUGAL at O Fojo Permaculture | Integral Education Center. The course will have a residential scheme with camping accommodation facilities. Please bring your own comfortable camping material. Bring a good mattress for your own good night sleeping and rest.

When?
This transformative course will begin on the evening of 15th of JULY 2017 and will end after breakfast on JULY 30th 2017. Please be welcome to come on Friday 14th to give a hand on preparations or just to arrive and connect calmly to the place. Organize your trip in a way you can arrive on 15th (Saturday) morning and at maximum on Saturday afternoon to set up your camping device until 17:00!
To properly take advantage of the course, medium to advanced knowledge of English is recommended. It is also a very good and safe environment to improve your english skills. Technical words will be translated into portuguese, if necessary.

380 EUR (for inscriptions until May 15th to Portuguese, Spanish, Greek and Romanian participants!) + Food and Accommodation Fee
Minimum Fee
420 EUR (for inscriptions until June 30th!) + Food and Accommodation Fee
(This amount is for payment for the invited facilitator and includes the fee for O Fojo Permaculture to cover partially the costs of materials, international travel and to invest on the improvement of the learning environment to receive the students the best way)
Fair Fee
630 EUR (for inscriptions until July 8th) + Food and Accommodation Fee
(This amount is for payment for both facilitators and includes the fee for O Fojo Permaculture to cover all the costs of preparation, logistic, materials, international travel for the invited facilitator and to invest on the improvement of the learning environment to receive the students the best way)
Abundant Fee
840 EUR + Food and Accommodation Fee
(This amount is for payment for both facilitators and includes the fee for O Fojo Permaculture to cover all the costs of preparation, logistic, materials, international travel for the invited facilitator and to invest on the improvement of the learning environment and to keep on implementing the Integral Education Center to receive the students the best way and to support the Scholarship offers and Early Bird and Minimum fee students.
10% special offers for couples or groups inscriptions. Must be requested on booking and this discount is only possible to apply for the Fair and Abundant Fee.
Scholarships
For each 11 participants inscriptions, Facilitators will offer 1 free scholarship for the course on a selection base process. Please contact us!
This scholarships are only for the facilitation, so the participant should be able to afford the food and accommodation fee.
Food and Accommodation Fee
210 EUR
The accommodation will be in camping with your own camping material.
This fee includes camping, hot showers, toilet paper, water, gas, some design materials, complete delicious local/bio/vegetarian/vegan food cooked by experienced hired cooks! Breakfast, coffee break, lunch, tea break and dinner with a balanced, generous and diverse seasonal products. Tea, fresh spring water and fruits will be always available. Coffee is just served at the breakfast and the morning coffee break.

If you have any food restriction (allergies, intolerances, etc…), please inform us as soon as possible so we can arrange the logistics to accomplish accordingly.
Fasting will not be allowed during the course period.
Assure your place!
To assure your place, full fares (Course fee + food and accommodation fee) must be transferred at the moment of your inscription. If you need to pay it in parcels make us know!

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations with 90% refund will be accepted:
1. in case of proven personal or family health issues
2. the canceling participant place can be taken by a waiting list individual.
The cancellation have to occurs maximum 15 days before the course date.
If the cancellation is due to other issues O Fojo will refund 50% of the inscriptions only and when the cancellation occurs maximum at 15 days before the Course.
No refund will made for cancellation for less than 15 days or no-show on the first day of the course.
The organization reserves the right to do not accept any late show on the course and no reimbursement will be made.
The organization also reserves the right to cancel the event with 5 days notice at the occurrence of unforeseen circumstances, including insufficient bookings, natural disasters, the impossibility to find suitable teaching replacements and structural damage to the facilities. In such cases, the organization will refund participants minus a 10% administration fee and will offer advantageous deals on future events as a gesture of goodwill. Travel expenses will not be refunded as a result of cancellations and participants must ensure themselves against such eventualities.
