Dragon Dreaming – Empowered Fundraising

Successful projects need a stable economic basis. And yet fundraising is sabotaged by a deep, multigenerational wound about money created by our win-lose culture. From this, our current economy is based upon a model that believes:
• There is not enough
• More is better
• That is the way it is, we have no choice
These false beliefs limit our effectiveness as fundraisers. Empowered fundraising overcomes these limiting beliefs, inspires and enables us as participants to create the funds necessary to implement our projects in line with our values and visions.
Primarily this is about building relationships with others and offering them the gift of participating in projects which add meaning to their lives. The healing of our relationship to money is the basis of this work. With Empowered Fundraising we can succeed in building an economy of sustainability and mutual respect.
At the completion of this workshop participants will have
1. Discovered the source of our wound about money and fundraising
2. Have discovered the basis of the gift economy, through the gift of leading a meaningful life
3. Have practiced Charismatic Win-Win Communication as a way of sharing about their project(s), in such a way as to encourage participation
4. Identified their personal balance point as a contribution towards their project, and committed it to their project
5. Identified the basis of relationship building, seen a role play and have created one for themself
6. Learned of the steps and stages for a successful fundraising project, and be able to apply this to their own project

Facilitator
Virgilio Varela is a Lisbon based portuguese facilitator and a certified trainer who works with diverse collaborative methodologies and systems to empower groups and communities, promote personal growth and strengthen businesses. He has vast experience in designing projects and working with youth and communities in countries such as Portugal, Brasil, Mozambique,Germany, United Kingdom. His experience working in big companies has helped understand both the business and social contexts of collaboration. Examples of projects: Social Innovation Hub, DOME,Comer Junto,etc
In his work he integrates intuition, creativity, sustainability with tools such as Dragon Dreaming, ABCD, Design Thinking, Sociocracy, Open Space Technology, Theory U, etc. He is also a social entrepreneurship trainer at the Social Entrepreneurship Institute in Portugal and holds a Master in Education from King’s College University of London.
He is a keynote speaker at various national and international conferences and institutions on topics such as building communities, working with communities, social entrepreneurship, strategic funding, collaboration, social innovation, using arts as educational tool and youth volunteering.He is the author and host of the television programme Social Innovators at the RTP Africa – interviewing social innovators across the world.He is one of the co-founders of the Possibilities Institute together with John Croft.
Virgílio is currently consulting and training social entrepreneurs, start-ups, social business and companies.

Course Fees:
Conscious price – 150 Euros
(we also open the possibility for you to pay in a sliding scale from 130 Euros to 170 Euros, depending on your possibilities at this moment, allowing this way an economical sustainability balanced point fair for everyone).
In transparency, we describe below the cost structure:
130 Euros (100 Euros course of 2 days | 30 Euros to cover the costs of food and accommodation in camping)
150 Euros (100 euros course of 2 days a | 30 Euros to cover the costs of food and accommodation in camping | 20 Euros to cover the costs of organization and logistics)
Above 150 Euros, you will be able to cover the previous values and contribute to O Fojo to improve the infrastructures and general conditions of the space, helping the Integral Education Center becoming an incresialy welcome place for our participantes.
Besides this inspiring workshop, and materials, this fee includes: 3 delicious (mostly bio/ local/ vegetarian/ vegan) meals + 2 coffee / tea breaks a day, camping, hot shower, the possibility of meditation twice a day and a community experience you will never forget 🙂
The fares must be transferred at the moment of your inscription. In case of cancellation from our part we return the total amount.
In case the participant cancels in the 15 days prior to the workshop, we charge 20%, in the last previous week we will be required to charge the totality.
